We could always meet in the "sitting room" by the front door by the elevator at a certain time. I don't plan to make pins for this convention so I won't be wearing any pins BUT I would consider a RIBBON or something like that. How about a purple ribbon??? I'm meeting a lot of different people so any suggestions would be nice. Just so you know...Stampin' Up sells at the Carson convention too and I'm thoroughly disgusted with them because they do charge MORE for the stamps at the convention then they do at a home party. I would strong encourage people not to purchase at the conventions. The gals that have the SU booth at the convention are the so called owners of the company. Go figure. When I asked them why they jacked the prices up at the convention last year; I was told that it was a shipping fee that the customers had to cover. Libby L. I'm putting them in order from baby till now. I can provide a background tape of music to be added to the video. I was thinking of using music from the 60's. Does anyone have any good titles? Something that would be typical of the 60's or go along with the idea of the tape.(He likes coffee, computers, bicycling, woodworking) I can probably use about 5 songs. If you happen to know who sings the song that would help as well. I need to put the tape together and get this all delivered to the person doing it later this week. I appreciate all your help. Thanks, Karen This message was from Karen Harris - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. It's basically brand new, and I will read it this week sometime, but wonder if there is someone out there who would like it when I'm done. It seemed like there were alot of you out there who liked these - so if you're interested, email me. The first one to email me with their addy gets it - all I ask in return is a card! Phil, I'm sorry to hear that you've had such bad experiences with people who weren't willing to take responsibility for their negligent, irresponsible behavior. I don't think vendors should ever be saddled with unnecessary costs that were created by customers. For those vendors who have a lot of problems with NSF checks, how about giving customers the option of either sending money orders or cashier's checks if they want their goods to be shipped upon receipt of payment OR having to wait until their check clears the bank if they send a personal check. That seems fair to me. If I don't use a credit card for mail orders, I always pay by cashier's check anyway. For me, it's not really troublesome to get a cashier's check; it usually only takes about 5-10 minutes. Another option that I've seen by some retailers is offering a discount for purchases made in cash, i.e., money order or cashier's check. So, for example, if your prices generally reflect a 25% discount, the discount would only be 15% if payment is made by personal check, but the full 25% discount would be available if payment is made by money order or cashier's check. This also seems reasonable because it's another way for vendors to cover unnecessary costs incurred while doing business. I think vendors have to think of ways to protect themselves so that they can stay in business. As a consumer, I understand the necessity of self-protective business practices and recognize that everyone benefits from them in the long run. I don't expect to get something for nothing. I realize that I get good deals by buying via mail order through this list, and I can't imagine anyone who doesn't. With that in mind, the option of paying by money order or cashier's check seems like a very good deal to me. twINKlebell - ----------------------------------------------------- On Sat, 24 Jan 1998 18:39:52 -0600 Phil Schloss writes: >Fran, >You are correct, I charge $20 for returned checks and people just >don't pay.
