They are usually low in fat, and soy is good for you. We're vegetarians and I too have to lose LOTS of weight. I've found some of the vegan salad dressings are real low fat and VERY tasty and you'll be able to use them with meat meals because they contain NO animal products. Morningstar Farms has a fake "bacon" that is vegan. It cooks up quick (I put it in the oven on a cookie sheet), is not greasy, crumbles nicely and tastes GREAT! And, of course, its not made of pork (or any meat for that matter), so you could eat it anytime! Another thing to add with the "fakon" is swiss chard. It's good! Most of the companies also include other items "on approval" and you'd be obligated to return the extra items at your own expense if you didn't want to buy them too. This can readily add a few more dollars to the expense of getting the stamps. I'm willing to guess that "Harris" and "Mystic" and other well-established companies still advertise in the back of Boy's Life Magazine, which can be found in the children's section of most public libraries.
