Next scrunch it all up into middle from both ends. (I have a metal yard stick and this works really well, but wooden will do ok ) Unscrunch it, then carefully unwrap from off stick and it looks like seersucker material. I love this. Another fun thing is take plain colors, scrunch into ball, do the seersucker thing, twist, whater and then spray with paint. I esp like gold on red or gold on white. After dried, open and you have a neat paper. Also have done scrunching on thicker pieces of wood (don't get splinters) or around a pole/dowel, etc. Eileen The Heart That Loves Is Forever Young--Greek Proverb _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Standing out front was Sara (Stamperson@aol.com) handing out little packages of EP. The pin trading was just beginning. I stood outside and traded with anybody that came up holding a zip lock bag of pins. Then the doors opened and the line started moving! Jerry and I both got a pin from the convention! There was more trading going on in the lobby!! I took off my vest and was pinning them on as fast as I traded until the last one I had was gone. Then it was time to go find the rubber!! I started out in the tiny room off to the side of the main room. I found the new line of cat stamps called Cliff's Cats at Tejas Stamps. The catalog at Rubber Gems is going to make great bedtime dreaming ;o) The stamp positioner from Connor's Collectibles- is tons better than the one I have at home! Eugenia was demonstrating Magic Leaf (or was that foil) It was beautiful! I'll find out for certain tomorrow. The next little room I put on hold until tomorrow (because I didn't know it was there until it was too late) That room has Polly's Pals and Greenhorn Valley Stamps. In the tiny lobby was Stamp Out Cute where I met Shannon Green. I'll watch her demo tomorrow. And there was also Stamp Camp in the same area. I bought their catalog and I'm going back for the unmounted grab bag tomorrow. It sure sounds like I'm putting off a lot until Sunday! I went into the big room and the smell of rubber was overwhelming and wonderful!!! First I hit Wendy's booth of Appalachian Art Stamps. Don was wearing his propeller beanie hat--Very dashing indeed! I bought a bag of Static Magic and watched Don Demonstrate the Miter Maker. That looks so cool if you do a lot of borders. Every time I passed her booth there was a mob of people and I couldn't get in :o( Then I hit Evolving Images' booth! They have the very interesting 3-D paper and an acrylic storage system for my unmounteds. Oh and some more HALOS! Then it was on to the rubber pit at Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers. I just love their off the wall humorous stamps! I found some that will go great for my swap! Then it was time to meet at Evo's Booth!!! I couldn't possibly remember all the names of the people I met! You know what? I get a mental picture of the people when I read their e-mails. Some were just like I pictured and other's were totally opposite! There were hugs going all around and it was like we knew each other for years and saw them everyday! We all gathered around for a mass picture and I can't even count how many cameras there were! Of course my camera was still in the van! :-O I think I'm still seeing spots! It was fantastic to meet the ones I have grown to love through our fingers on the keys. I spent some time and $$ at Worth Repeating. They had some terrific paper that looks like wood grain!I missed the demo there because she was gone. Then I went to Stamps By Judith. If you like cute you would like her stamps. Jerry found a bear that he liked (not a teddy bear) and I found a great holiday greeting stamp. Next I concentrated my time in one little corner of the hall. I visited The Art Institute to look at the glitter and watch them do the demonstration. I just watched and ooo'd and ahh'd over the results. Next was Xyron, Inc. where they have the laminator that makes stickers too. You can laminate 1 side or 2 sides or laminate 1 side and stickerize the 2nd side. That's a pretty neat machine. Then Jerry went to Green Sneakers, Inc. They have the Kreate-A-Lope for cards and the bag maker. That is a clever idea! It's a template to use for making gift bags! Jerry wanted it!! Then I spent some time at Fishbone Graphics. They have a few really great cat images. Some of their images are really off the wall and odd (just what I love) A Stamp In the Hand was right next to them so off I went. I finally found a few Pergamano supplies but not the tools. Jerry watched the demo while I shopped Then we went to Marco Printed Products for paper!! I just love paper. There were stacks and stacks of different papers and a wall of envelopes! The last place for today was Inkers-A-Way. This is a neat company. They have images that all go together if you had a big enough canvas to work with. There are street scenes and country scenes and a railroad scene. There is so much that can be done and I kept smiling at all the ideas that were coming into my head. Their images are not quite cute, but they're cute. That's all there was at the convention for today. I have yet to see Toybox Rubber Stamps, 100 Proof Press, Stamp Zia, Stamps Happen, Inc., Art Gone Wild, Judi*Kins, Paula Best & Co., Smiling Dog Designs, and Skycraft Designs,Inc. Those booths and the classes are going to keep me very busy from 10am until 4pm!!! Until next time, Keep Stamping! How did I get to be soooo lucky to receive her package!!!!! Thank you soooo mcuh Aleta for all the thought that you put into this package. Each item was individually wrapped in a pinkish tissue paper and labeled as to what item in the hunt it was. She made adorable little tag holders out of a envelope w/hearts stamp!!!! I have the same one and will use your ideas!!!!!!!!!!! Aleta made 5 Wonderful cards - Each one so carefully thought out and made:) One is one white cardstock, layered with pink corragated cardstock then a scalloped edged heart stamp is cut out and layered on the pink and then an I Love You has been cut out with deckle scissors and mounted in the middle with a pop dot. It is Beautiful! The next card is a pop out card - the background on the both the front and inside is stamped with tiny red hearts. When you open it up, I very adorable bear (PSX) who is holding ballons in a basket pops out at you In the other hand he is holding a string full of individual ballons that each contain a letter and spell out Be My Valentine! WOW - What time and thought you put into this one -Thank you!! The next one contains her poem - It's pink cardstock with individual little hearts stamped, colored and cut out and arranged all around a layered piece of white cardstock - Then this poem is written on the white cardstock - "Rose's Are Red, Violet's Are Blue. With Valentines Day Ahead, It's Nice To Have A Friend Like YOU!" You couldn't have sent a better poem - Thanks for it!! The next one is a Precious shaker card. It looks like Aleta sponged pink on a piece of white cardstock as a background, stamped a heart window and cut out the 4 window panes. Inside is red heart confetti. 2 elegant roses are stamped opposite corners. What kind of embossing pad/powder did you use on these - I NEED to get some - They are Spectacular :) The last card is dry embossed - I have never seen this technique before and I LOVE it - The colors and stamps that you used are soooo dainty!!! Thank you for all of these cards!!!!!! The stamp I got is by PSX - 2 hearts encircled in eachother - How lovely - I don't have any like this!!!! The E.P. was Magenta - again, something I don't have !!!
