I call it "flower paper/cardstock" because that's just what it is... paper with real dried flower petals in it. This is not a handmade paper... but a smooth writing paper (28 lb) and a matching smooth cardstock, with actual flower petals in the paper. It comes in 2 types... one has LOTS of petals, and the other has fewer, more space out petals. Both come in the TEXT (paper) weight and CARDSTOCK weight. Now, here's the problem... these are VERY expensive (I was shocked!) but they are GORGEOUS! The good thing is I don't have to buy a whole ream... they come in packages of 100... so I can order only as much as I need. I will be ordering/picking up these on Jan. 10th and shipping Jan. 12th. I will take pre-orders ONLY and buy only what you order. Here are the prices (full 8½x11 sheets): -->Sparce petals (text weight) 10 sheets for $3.75 -->Sparce petals (cardstock weight) 10 sheets for $7.50 -->Lots of petals (text weight) 10 sheets for $3.75 -->Lots of petals (cardstock weight) 10 sheets for $7.50 Shipping: 10 sheets/$1.75 -- 20 to 80 sheets/$3 Please e-mail me if you want to be included in the order. I would like to have most of the money before I pick these up (as they are quite spendy!!). I WILL NOT cash any checks before the paper is shipped!!! Happy New Year 1998 !! Still room for lots more players! Come and join us! This is my favorite monthly swap cuz it is so easy! Plus you get to see and collect a lot of the images that are out there........great for newbies especially! I just wanted to update everyone on the new image swap themes and procedures for 1998. As you all know, Jan 98 will be Ruthann's last swap which is Stampa Barbara. I will be listing my themes shortly. First, I'd like to share with you the new procedures: **Send ten (10)** cards 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch cards (half sheet of cardstock). Don't fold! Include an ADDRESS LABEL (SAML) for me to use to return the cards. **Send $1.00 for mailing the cards back** DON'T COLOR. Use WHITE - can be glossy or matte. Stamp in black ink that won't smear if colored with markers, or you can emboss. If you want to do different images on the cards instead of all the same, that is fine. Please include stamp credits. Put your name and e-mail addy on the back of each card. All cards must be postmarked by the last day of each month. Stamp things that will be EASY to cut out. Remember you will have to cut out what you get back to use to make your own cards. My address is: Eva J. Here's what I received: From Ann Sieber: on Bordeaux linen cardstock, she stamped the Dianthus and embossed in a dark red tone for a tone-on-tone look. She cut it out with fancy scissors and mounted it over lavendar mulberry paper, then onto light pink cardstock. On the inside, she stamped: "Wishing you a day bright with sunshine... warm with love." From Stephanie Geddes: on red cardstock, she stamped the poppies and embossed in silver EP. this is then mounted on an eggplant felt textured cardstock. She added a white ribbon bow to the side of the card, a nice extra touch! From Sherry: Also on eggplant felt textured cardstok, she stamped the Lilies and embossed in white. She then painted the flowers with an acrylic paint. I like the effect!! On the inside, she stamped "If I had a flower for everytime I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever" From Patty Sulcs: The Orchid is stamped on white cardstock and colored with pencils. Patty did a nice job of shading the flowers to give them depth From Kate Hill: A BIG card with the Iris stamped on white cardstock that was cut in an oval shape, then mounted on purple cardstock with the corners fancy punched. The whole thing is then mounted on another piece of white cardstock with the corners rounded. Kate used silver EP on the Iris and colored it with pencils. She added a purple bow at the top, too! Our hostess, Merlene, sent us a couple of stamped images for us to use. She sent me the pansy... I already have it, so I will be exchanging with my friend Cindy who doesn't have this stamp!! Thank you so much this is the greatest. I recewived FOUR stamps. Two are Laurel Burch stamps with cats. I love her designs and only have a couple of her stamps and I didn't have the two you selected. Wonderful choices!! I also love the little hybiscus stamp which looks like a Buffalo Stampede stamp. That's great as i love her designs and haven't gotten but a couple yet myself. The fourth stamp is a flower basket. It is very pretty and makes me think of spring. Well not tonight since it is supposed to be about 0. She also sent two cat punches. Great and again not one that I have. I just love the little one. I've never seen those little cutties. She also sent a Kaleidacolor ink pad. This is great and I really need to replace a couple of my rainbow bads that I've about "used up". AND she sent some Pop Dots that look like they will work great for embellishments, and some accent papers in beautiful shades, AND she sent some translucent envelopes. Everything was wonderfully wrapped and really arriving on the 24th just was wonderful. None of my family gave me stamps, so this package and packages from a couple stampin friends were the only stamp supplies or stamps that I received. thanks so much for everything. Wow am I lucky. In fact, I have sooooooo many autumn leaves and sunbursts and snowflakes, that several of you may recieve them. I'll leave it up to you. Flaherty" Subject: RubberTown: RS: Interference Swap Rec'd Just trying to catch up with posts, swaps, everything ...Thanks Justine for hosting this swap!!! I enjoyed working on this.... Justine - Dark green cs, layered with taupe, then navy cs. ON the navy isa fish w/spray embossed in blue, colored w/multiple colors of interference paints. Love the use of colors and the dark ep! Tony Knight (DH of Sara) - on navy cs a really lovely island "scene" card, with grass, ocean, palm trees, and large moon all painted in interference paints!! I like this card.... Sandy Lane - on pink glossy paper a lovely brushed interference colors layered w/gold photo corners, then orange metallic tissue paper, crinkled w/ a woman's face w/large "rubber stampers" supplies hat on!! Love the hat!! Sandy, I like how you used all the colors burshed together for the background...I'll be trying this... Christine Cox - used Curtis Uyeda egrets stamps, embossed in copper on cranberry cs, this is layered on black cs w/gold interference paint gently "tapped" on the cs. Like the composition, my friend!! Lastly, I received one of my cards back and I'm glad, I like it!!! This was fun, I learned a few new techniques to try next time I play with interference paints. Thanks everyone! Flaherty" Subject: RubberTown: RS: Pointsettia Swap Rec'd Thanks Lisa for hosting this swap and for the gift of cs!! Ranee - Ivory cs layered w/dark green, then layered w/musical score of Away in a Manger, then layered on the muscial score is the Comotion Pointsettia. I think it is stamped on a light weight foil, then colored w/markers (?) and embossed w/clear ep. Very elegant card. Ranee what is the foil you used? I like your card very much!!!! Melissa David - Placed in a clear envy is silver metallic cs, layered w/red and then navy cs w/lines (indentations)...w/sponged silver paint. This has a cut out and then a poinsettia "stained glass" can be seen with glitter showing through the clear acetate!! I don't think I am doing this card justice in my description...it is really lovely. Melissa, did you stamp the design on a laser transparency? I've never seen one, but think I have now. Also, how did you color? Your card is very elegant, just lovely! Kim Albert - Antique white cs, and layered in the upper part of the card is red cs, two inch square, w/gold photo holders. Layered on this is light green cs w/ a pointsettia done in red and green glitter. On the lower part of the card, is Merry Merry Christmas, embossed in gold. I really like the use of the "upper" space of the card, I'll be filing this idea away in my mind! Carol Otani - on red metallic cs is a matte evergreen cs w/corners rounded. On the center is a really lovely pointsettia embossed in gold and painted with interference colors, I think! This card is so elegant in its simplicity. Who made the pointsettia stamp? I have to get this. LindaSue - I have and love this PSX pointsettia basket stamp! White cs, layered w/red cs circle deckled, then white cs deckled layered on this w/ pointsettia basket embossed with gold ep. This is painted with water color markers in red, green, brown. The center of the pointsettia had a bit of glitter. Love the card!! Thanks everyone...great cards...I'm glad to have received them!!! I'm having trouble with my signature line, as you can see below after I tried changing my signature line all I can seem to get is this foreign language looking symbol thing. I did it before but can't remember how now. If someone could please take me step by step through it for Netscape Navigator I'd reallllllly appreciate it, this has been really frustrating, I've been trying for an hour or more now. TIA!!
