I just want to assure everyone that any problems that demonstrators may have had with the DOTS company is not sufficient reason to believe that other demonstrators will provide bad service. As with any company where you have Independent Contractors who accept rules and regulations of a parent company there will be times when disputes and disagreements will arrise between Demonstrator and Parent Company. That certainly doesn't mean that the customers are being treated unfairly! I would hate to believe that anyone would discriminate against me personally because I happen to be a demonstrator for DOTS. So far, I've basically incorporated the velvet in making cards. I've learned a few things that I'd like to share: Glitter glue placed directly on the velvet did not work really well; however, "loose" glitter, sprinkled gently over the image, works great...and the velvet seems to "hold" the glitter. I stamped a victorian village, surprisingly good detail, and sprinkled a bit of glitter over the image (like a "pinch" of salt) Interference paints really look good on velvet. I used my finger tip with a wee bit of paint, and tapped gently. I had stamped a Magenta floral image on green velvet for a card, then put a touch of green interference paint in the center of the flower. It looked really good. Really nice shading...made a great image look even better! Has anyone else tried interference paints on velvet? Well, I'll be trying velvet pillows...I'll let you know what else I uncover...it's such fun!!! Please let me know what you've discovered when stamping on velvet. I wouldn't order any double stick foam from them. I tried three times and they sent me old garbage foam where the backing wouldn't even come off of one side. This was unbelievable to me how they could send the same junk out after I explained to them the problem. I ended up throwing the stuff away and sending them a sample back. I personally was not very happy with them. We carry the scented emboss powders here at the store and we do mail order as well. We currently carry Apple, Cherry. Pine and Peach. We will be getting in Chocolate hopefully by mid January. The sell for $3.75 a bottle plus s/h. They are 1 oz. bottles. If you are in interested just drop us a quick E-Mail. I have not ordered from them because as I said Lorri was very generous & sent me some. I wanted to try it out before I spent the money. It embosses as a sort of neon green & does smell like apple. I think it would be nice if they could make some that smelled like roses or some sort of floral fragrance. I I hope this info helps.
