OK, to be honest, I'm looking for some inspiration, too. For samples of some artwork with this, just ask! I'll send you a file to download with 4 cards I've made using wallpaper. NAME OF SWAP: Embellishment with Wallpaper Swap HOSTED BY: Stargazer E-MAIL stargazser@juno.com (or Stargazser@aol.com) ITEMS INFO: 5/5 pc/cards/pins, whatever. If you'd like to send more than 5 please email me first. I'd appreciate an extra card for me. :-P THEME/DETAILS: Take some wallpaper, cut it up, make something out of it that'll go great with a stamp and then make some art magic with the two! :) use as many stamps and as much wallpaper as you like, but it is required that you use at least one "something" of wallpaper. MAILING INFO: PLEASE WRITE SWAP NAME ON ENVELOPE!!, also on ARTWORK!! No envelope necessary. Send (stamps preferred-1-.32 cents & 5 .23 cents), $1.01 cash or postage for 10 items and under, $2 in cash or stamps for more than 10, and $3 for over 20 items. You'll be refunded any extra left over. And 3 (THREE) self addressed mailing labels, please don't forget the labels, it really makes a difference in getting the swaps out faster, and I wrap the return swap in a water proof bag that will have your address label on it so if the envelope rips, the PO will still know where to send it, (and all the cards/work won't fall out loose on the floor to be lost forever, it works, too.) Here's a listing: Whoopi Goldberg - she came into Planet Hollywood when I was having lunch there, and they did a whole PR thing for her to donate a dress from"Corinna Corinna", she was nice Dustin Hoffman - I was having dinner at Sardi's and he was at the next table - - boy is he short! Very pleasant though. I was invited to the premier party of "Tin Cup" at the All Star Cafe (I fell into this invite by being at the right place at the right time) and met Kevin Costner, Don Johnson, Cheech Marin, Regis and Joy Philbin, Jesse Norman (the opera singer), Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins (he is to DIE for!) After I saw "Victor/Victoria" I had the opportunity to meet Michael Nouri, Tony Roberts and JULIE ANDREWS!!!!!!! This was one of the best moments of my life. I MET Mary Poppins!!!!! Met Randolph Mantooth having luch in Times Square (he used to be on "Emergency" I think he's on a soap now.) Met Nathan Lane, Mark-Lynn Baker and Ernie Sabella (Pumba) after a performance of "A Funny Thing Happened........" They were all great, posed for pics and signed autographs. Met Patti Lupone, Angie Dickinson, Earl Holliman, Daniel J. Travanti, George Hearn.... I can't remember what other people I've met in NY. I literally ran into Jon Bon Jovi getting off an elevator of a hotel in Springfield, Mass. When I was in London, I went to a performance of "Phantom of the Opera", and the Queen Mother was there celebrating her birthday. We had to stand and sing "Happy Birthday dear Ma'am". I've met Keith Lockhart (conductor of the Boston Pops) several times. I've also met a lot of sports people from Boston teams like (Tony Conigliaro, Carl Yastrzemski (Red Sox)Bobby Orr, Terry O'Reilly, John Bucyk, Johnnie MacKenzie (Bruins), Kevin McHale, Dana Barrows (Celtics) and currenly the son of Pete Carroll (coach of the Patriots) is in my 5th grade class, so I've met Pete. Drew Bledsoe also lives in the town where I teach, and I met him too. There are lots of other sports guys as well. It's always exciting to meet someone famous. I came home to find my combined Jan/Feb tribe package! I was so excited - it was chock full of amazing goodies. My Tribe Buddy, Debbie, was MORE than generous. On top was a card. A beautiful collage card layered with handmade paper, mesh, tin strips and sealing wax with heart imprints. Very beautiful. Written inside is a note from Debbie explaining why the two months are together in one package (hey, that's fine by me and no I am most certainly not disappointed!) Also, Debbie, I did get the Dec. parcel and posted to the list. I'll try to find a copy of it and send it to you. I loved that parcel too. Now on to the goodies! January's suprises were all wrapped up in heart tissue paper and included: ~ a round sponge ball ~ red "dried grass" - great for collage ~ red tin "springs" like ones she used on her card - very fun! ~ a bag of assorted ribbons - 72 ft worth ~ imprintz pigment pad in turquoise ~ a pack of 4 very elegant blank cards and envys - are these store bought or did you make them? I can't tell! ~ a huge sheet of patterned paper from Paperbilities ~ a tiny wood mounted fleur de lis stamp ~ a wooden peg stamp of a "J" ~ burgundy disks of sealing wax (I have been SO wanted to try this!) ~ three pins - one of two oriental fish, a sealing wax disk with a gold rubber stamp and a tiny jar of heart "candies" - all are wonderfully done! ~ red and white heart confetti ~ 17, yes 17 unmounted stamps from VLVS, mostly wonderful, hilarious sayings And that was just January! Here's February: ~ a foam Gardening set from Rubber Stampede (four stamps with green pad) ~ a foam leaves set from Rubber Stampede (four stamps with brown pad) ~ Easter egg confetti ~ two Impress Dual Markers - slate grey and lilac ~ huge roll of tesa tape - is there anything special I should know about this tape? I've never seen it before ~ a wonderful, wonderful bound book with a brown corrugated cover and brown speckled pages - where did this come from?? ~ an assortment of glossy sticker paper in a variety of wonderful colours ~ 3 sheets of amazing holographic sticker paper ~ a stack of cardstock in dark grey and green (perfect with the leaf stamps) ~ a stack of glossy cardstock in beautiful pastel colours ~ a bunny rabbit punch ~ and last but certainly not least.................. My tribe buddy actually owns her own stamp company! Too cool. Unknown to me she sent me one of her stamps last time and this time she sent me 14, yes 14 of her unmounted stamps! Her company is called Rubber Stamp Rampage Stamps. The designs vary from dancing girls to teddy bears to rabbits to very oriental looking designs. Lots of cats and a nice selection of frame stamps. I am just blown away by the assortment she sent me. They are all rather large stamps - the kind where you could just use one to do a quick beautiful card. And I've already seen at least four more that I'm going to have to order. Thank you Debbie for being a wonderful, generous Tribe Buddy. I hope yours was as good to you as you were to me.
