I got the most beautiful and elegant cards in the vellum/perg swap yesterday! Gerrie Eder - Tri-fold envelope card made of heavy vellum. Beautiful perg work on front and around edges, then highlighted with gold pen. This is really elegant - thanks Gerrie! Kimberlee Dick - Beautiful cut work vellum heart (we're talking lots of very intricate cut work - nice!) mounted over red foiled sticker paper, then cut out and mounted on black cardstock trimmed with decorative scissors. Then the card is enclosed in the neatest envelope - a double layered vellum, 4 tab folding envelope w/confetti nestled inside the layers! Great idea! So clever - thank you Kimberlee! Jamie - Beautiful perg work on thin weight vellum paper which is layered over a pink card which has been embellished with dry embossing. This card is so elegant and beautiful! Thanks, Jamie! Jane Dutton - Just a darling, darling card. This lady has a circle cutter and knows how to use it! Card front has large circle "vellum" window with a little girl layered over top holding a Garfield-the-cat balloon. Jane has used string to attach the ballon to the girl's hand. Layered inside the card is (surprise!) a shaker card! She's cut out a small circle and sandwiched balloon confetti inside the window of acetate so that you can see the message "Happy Day" peeking through from the inside of the card. So unique and charming! Thanks Jane! Lorrie Garrison - Beautiful heavy weight vellum card which is layered over cardstock of similar color. The left edge of the card has been trimed with decorative scissors. White embossed butterflies and flowers embellish this georgous card which have been highighted with glitter, markers, ribbon and a beautiful butterfly stamped on (what appears to be) purple marble paper is layered on top. What kind of paper is that anyway? This is such a unique and beautiful card! Thanks, Lorrie! Lastly, Robin enclosed some neat instructions from Suze Weinberg "Tips and Techniques" for marvy metallic markers and a technique called "Brown Bagging". Thanks so much Robin for hosting! Wendy & Don should be an inspiration to us ALL !!! I don't know if I could have endured what they have over the years. BUT ... the new house is sooo beautiful ! It will be so perfect for the business ! Mom and I were so honored that they took us over there last week on a "quickie" tour of the place. (We were supposed to be having a business meeting, but Wendy was wound tight as a rubber band from the excitement of the new place.) Rubber really can build a house ... and make many dreams come true ! (applause) (applause) (applause) Way to go Wendy & Don !!! We can't wait to help you add on to this house !!! :-) - --- Lisa Wynn Stampher2@aol.com http://members.aol.com/stampher2/index.html In a message dated 98-03-05 17:49:05 EST, grannystmpr@mindspring.com writes: << I hope everyone on the stamping lists have read Wendy's *story* - every word she said is true! I've been to her house many times and I know what she and Don (and their daughter Kira) have endured for the past 4 years and, now, they've attained their goal! They took me and my daughter (Lisa/Stampher2) to their new house and it's beautiful and they deserve a lifetime of happiness! This is *real life* story of TRUE GRIT - this family certainly has my admiration and respect. They've overcome so many obstacles - never lost sight of their goals - and it's all paid off! Congrstulations, Wendy and Don - no two people deserve this more than you two!
