I think you should give their first album "Viva! la Woman" a try ("Stereotype A" is quite disappointing compared to this unfortunately). It also has some downtowners on board such as Dougie Bowne and Dave Douglas. And as Patrice said, the most important is that it is a fun record to listen to. Musically, it's all over the place- a bit schizophrentic at that- but such diversity is the allure of this sort of release. I've always looked at it as the "downtown" version of Duncan McKay's ReR-related _Miniatures_ album/project, released on the Tube label back in the early 80's (and recently re-issued on Voiceprint, IIRC) that introduced this type of multiple artists/one minute songs thing. It's not something that would stay in my player for weeks on end, but something I've listened to more than just a few times. You'll find music you enjoy and some you won't enjoy so much.
